I Love This Tree

A prime example of how, against all odds, totally out of the bounds of ordinary, unlike anything even the most vivid imagination could have conceived...

one can still grow and stand, their difference marking them a beautiful, unique contribution....

Kudos, Tree.

I too have the love of all trees. I find myself studying them with awe. Even now as I type this I find myself always looking out the window and watching them to see and hear what they are doing or saying.

Love the trees like this...tons of them on the trails back home! Used as trailmarkers way back when. They got bent and tied into place to "encourage" the crazy growth and mark the trail...some of the shapes they took/take are simply stunning.

Looks like a trail tree to me. I have a couple on my property. As Jess said they were made to grow that way as markers for the native americans who travelled, showing them the way to water and/or safety.

Thanks, Jess and momlady! I hadn't thought about it, but this tree certainly fits the cause-- my favorite 'quiet spot' is nearby-- a small waterfall. The tree actually does point towards the stream...
