Thirteen Things to Do-- "Is Next? SWIMWEAR!!!"

Well, ACTUALLY, number 9-- not 'nein'-- will be the order.

And ONE WORD I have for the "To Do" here....

{Um, Bodhran roll, Please!}

  • ALASKA
I realize that Alaska is a 'place', but that makes it no less a "thing" to be done.

I also realize that her"doing" may take several weeks, or several years...

So, she gets her own post.

As will the "next" tick, eh? But...

You gotta tune in on the morrow for THAT locale/ Agenda! LOL!

Slainte, folks!

Alaska is one of the states I have always wanted to see.

The picture is beautiful. I love the pink against the shades of blue.

Just don't go "Into The Wild" like that dumb kid from the Jon Krakauer novel of the same name.

You, of course, have more sense and skills than that! :)

Beautiful picture.

Miss Rene...

Mr Krakauer's book was an account of an Everest guide's nightmare gone wrong. "Into Thin Air"...

But I do recall a book about that prospect... the geologist, oui?? ...

Cygnus, really?

Sounds like an ideal spot then, doesn't it?

Alaska scares the crap outta me. I would so not do well there!

Yes, LAdy Felinae...
but WAY below 70 can be as bad as way above.

Well, there could be a big fire and a soft, fuzzy rug in the cold...

My most favorite Misadventurous Mommy!

Alaska is definitely a grand spot... and I bet you'd fare well there. ANYWHERE, really-- I mean, NOTHING can be as tough as full-house motherhood! ha!

Thanks for visiting, Allie...

Sir Cyg, Jon Krakauer also wrote "Into The Wild", which is an excellent book btw, about Christopher McCandless' ill fated, ill equipped Alaskan adventure. It's based upon an article Krakauer wrote for Outside magazine "Death Of An Innocent" in the early 1990's, I remember reading that thinking, wow this would make a great book.

I did read "Into Thin Air" as well.
I am a big fam of Krakauer's writing. He really puts you into the action.

Peace - Rene

I was ogling some land in Alaska just last year, thinking I could sell a kidney, buy some land and build a little house, tell the world to piss off and leave me alone...sigh...

I would dearly love to go and spend a month or ten taking photographs of anything that doesn't run away fast enough...

Can't wait to see what's next on the list.

Lady Rocks,
That article was expanded on, or near all 11,000 words of it (2.5 x the "standard" mag article length) were reproduced in National Geographic. It's where I 'discovered' Krakauer.

Thanks for the lead, Lady Rene.

:D

Lady K--

Is the land up there very expensive? I'd guess some secluded areas would be real inexpensive. And ISOLATED.
Hm... I see the allure! ha!
Next? We'll know in a few hours! ha!

Thanks for the visit!
